1. University of Alberta Scholarships

The IELTS exam is no longer required at Alberta University. Apply without IELTS for University of Alberta Scholarships for the academic year 2022–23. It is open to fully funded master’s and doctoral scholarships in Canada. They recently announced and implemented changes to the English Proficiency Language requirements. In 2022, the University of Alberta will be one of the top five Canadian universities offering scholarships.

Many countries and universities have been exempted from taking the IELTS.

  • English is a required language.

  • These scholarships are open to students with good grades (usually at least a 70% average at the undergraduate level and at least a 75% average at the graduate level).
  • Full-time undergraduate and graduate students from any faculty who want to take part in an international experience in Israel, such as a minimally paid or volunteer international co-op work placement, a volunteer placement, an academic exchange, or a study term related to academic requirements, must apply.
  • International tuition fees are charged to full-time international students with a valid Canadian study permit who go to school in Canada.
  • Typically given to students enrolled in research-based programs (thesis or major research paper),
  • It is normally only given to students starting their first term of study (term 1.0).
  • Students must demonstrate academic excellence using the faculty’s criteria.
  • Students must meet the academic progress requirements of their program and have no outstanding requirements for admission on probation.
  • This award may be combined with other internal or external scholarships (e.g., UW Graduate Scholarship, OGS, etc). Scholarships are not the same as sponsorship; see the next bullet.
  • Students should not normally be receiving foreign government or agency sponsorship (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc.) at the same time, nor should they be fully or partially self-funded in excess of the faculty minimum levels of support.
  • Students who have been grandfathered under the existing IMSA program are not eligible to be nominated for an IMAE. However, a student who has previously been awarded an IMSA for a previously completed master’s degree may be nominated for an IMAE.
  • Based on their admissions application, students will be automatically considered for this award. Departments and/or faculties will set up their own ways to choose recipients based on eligibility criteria and how much money is available.
