Her native state is Edo. Date of birth – 1st of January, year of birth – 1979. Now she is in her late thirties. Regarding her background, it is stated that her mother gave birth to 5 children, and Mercy was the second.

She has an OND in Financial studies which she received in Ibadan Polytechnic. She did not stop there. She decided to continue her education soon after. Mercy Aigbe stepped into the world of entertainment and chose to study Theatre Arts in Lagos State University. She graduated from the University in 2001. After 5 years she was lucky to become engaged in the world of Theatre.

Mercy Aigbe has a husband whose name is Lanre Gentry. He is believed to be working as a Nigerian hotelier. Though, rumors say that she has intentions to break up with her husband and to divorce.

According to her latest claims, she confessed that she suffered from domestic violence, as her husband beat her on a daily basis. He even almost killed her once. Mercy was so badly beaten that she had internal bleeding which lasted three weeks and harmed her sight.
